Q. Who can use the AYLC Online Application System?
Only official nominees of the school are given by the school’s Office of Student Affairs a username and password for logging into the System. A school may have a maximum of 10 official nominees only.
Q. Can I use Google Chrome or Internet Explorer to use the System?
No. The system works well only with Mozilla Firefox. Make sure you are using this browser to avoid any errors or problems when applying online.
Q. What if I don’t have Mozilla Firefox installed on my computer? What if my colleague or mentor assessors don’t have it intalled on their computers too?
You can easily download Mozilla Firefox for free here. Once successfully downloaded, you may assist your assessors too. That’s why it’s important to start your application early to have more time to follow-up with your assessors.
Q. How long will it take me to finish my application while using the System?
Depending on the availability and the speed of your internet connection, the time needed to complete the application online will vary. We advise you to organize and draft your application data and answers prior to filling up the online form. As a guide, you may refer to a copy of the application form which can be downloaded here.
Q. What if I can’t complete my online application at a given time?
The system allows you to save your entry at any point, so you can log-in again later using the same username and password assigned to you, and continue what you have left off. Be sure to take care of keeping your usernames and passwords confidential.
Q. What if I accidentally clicked the “Submit” button? Can I still retrieve my application to edit it?
No. Once the “Submit” button is clicked, all applications are deemed final. Please make sure that all your answers and information are clear and accurate before filling out the forms and clicking the “Submit” button.
Q. Can we submit the mentor and colleague assessment forms in hard copy and accomplish forms 1.0 to 7.0 online?
Yes, you can answer forms 1.0 to 7.0. online and then submit the mentor and colleague assessment forms in hardcopies to your Office of Student Affairs. They can mail it to us together with your Transcript of Records. The option to have the assessments in hardcopies is allowed provided that ALL six (6) mentor and colleague assessments are submitted by mail. We will not accept the six (6) assessment forms if, for example, two (2) are sent online, while four (4) are sent by mail.
Q. What if your mentor or colleague cannot go online?
We advise students to check first if their chosen mentor/colleague can go online. It would be preferable if the mentors and colleagues are knowledgeable in using the Internet. They must provide you with a working email address which they check regularly. You will input their email addresses in the Assessments Area once you log onto the System.
Q. What is the advantage of having the mentors and colleagues do their assessments through the Online System?
The Online System allows students to monitor their assessments status. The applicant can log in regularly to check if their assessors have already submitted their assessments. They will be guided by statuses like: “E-mail Sent”, “Assessment Pending”, and “Assessment Complete”.
Q. What is the deadline for the submission of applications?
The deadline is on August 22, 2011 at 11:59pm.
Q. (For schools) Why are there two deadlines for the submission of requirements?
|
Requirements |
Deadlines |
Student |
- Application form duly accomplished online
|
August 22, 2011,
11:59pm |
School |
- The official school nomination form signed by you and your school president with your school’s dry seal containing the names of your nominees
- Your nominees’ transcript of records/grades
- Mentor and colleague assessments of those nominees who opted to submit them in hard copies
|
August 31, 2011 |
IMPORTANT: Schools are given a week after the students’ deadline to check first and verify online the nominees who actually applied, before writing their names down on the Nomination Form. We want to avoid schools indicating ten (10) nominees, but then not all ten (10) get to successfully submit their applications on or before the August 22 deadline.
Q. (For schools) What if not all our students can go online?
We ask the school to provide assistance to students who may not have regular internet access by allowing the applicants to use the school’s computer/internet facilities.
Q. (For schools) Will the school be able to view the online form or data inputted by the student?
Schools are allowed to review and check the accuracy of the data submitted by their nominees. Only the designated school official in charge of AYLC nominations is allowed to view the data submitted by their nominees. Any error or inaccuracy in the data reviewed must be reported directly to the AYLC Secretariat.
